Hi Jason, I am a Reference Librarian. It will take me a few minutes to research your question. I highly recommend the nonprofit Consumer Credit Counseling agency (CCC). As I understand it, they do not take any money; they help you work out an arrangement with your creditors, and you pay your bills. You should always check out the credentials before giving anyone any money. Every state should have at least one nonprofit CCC. Since I don't know what state you are in, the first is where I suggest you start. The second is a west coast service, and the third is East Coast. Remember that everyone falls into a difficult time at some point. Don't let this get you down. The hardest part is asking for help, and you just did it. Good luck! K |
